裏磐梯 ホテル グランデコ Hotel GRANDECO in Urabandai

裏磐梯のホテル、グランデコ。

初めて一泊しただけでしたが、とても気に入りましたのでお勧めします。

Hotel GRANDECO is in Urabandai, Fukushima.

We stayed there for one night, for the first time.

I found it was a nice getaway place, not far from Tokyo area.

温泉も露天つきでよかったですよ。

Their onsen (hot springs baths), both indoor and outdoor, was very relaxing. (^^)

冬にはスキーリゾートになるようで、ホテルのすぐ裏にリフト乗り場があります。

And it's a wonderful ski resort in winter.  
Ski lifts are conveniently located right behind the hotel.

ゴンドラはこの時期にも運行していました。
私たちも早速乗ってみましたよ。

Their gondola lifts operates even at this time of the year. 
Of course, we took the ride.

紅葉したら見事でしょうね！　It must be gorgeous when these trees change colors.

山頂駅で石窯ピザをいただき、トレッキングへ。

We enjoyed pizza and nice view at the cafe by the station, then started on the trail.

紅葉にはまだ早い季節でしたので、あまり人もいなくてとても静かでした。
熊に出会うんじゃないかと心配しました。

It was a little too early for the autumn season, so there weren't many people up there.
I was afraid we might encounter a bear.

Good thing I borrowed this bear bell from the hotel.

およそ２時間弱のトレッキングの後、再びゴンドラに乗ってホテルに戻りました。
付近にはいろいろな花が咲いています。（名前を知らなくて失礼！）

After a two-hour walk, we took the gondola back to the hotel.
There were many flowers in the area.











トレッキングよし、温泉よし、お食事よし。

Nice walk, nice onsen, and nice food.

また行きたいと思います。＼(^o^)／

猪苗代で８０分 Eighty Minutes in Inawashiro, Fukushima

一泊二日で裏磐梯に行ってきました。

大宮から東北新幹線で郡山、そこから磐越西線で猪苗代駅へ。

We were to spend two days in Urabandai, Fukushima. 

We took Tohoku Shinkansen from Omiya to Koriyama, then, Ban-etsu Nishi Line to Inawashiro.

猪苗代駅に到着しましたが、さて裏磐梯のホテルのお迎えバスの時間まで約80分もあります。

というわけで、猪苗代湖を見に行こうということに。

We got off at Inawashiro Station.

Our hotel bus was going to pick us up in about 80 minutes.

So, in that 80 minutes, we decided to walk to Lake Inawashiro, and come back.

これが思いのほか気持ちよい散歩となりました。＼(^o^)／

It turned out to be a very pleasant walk.＼(^o^)／

今日の宿泊地、裏磐梯は磐梯山の向こう側ですが、磐梯山は頂上が雲に覆われていました。

Mt. Bandai was hidden in the clouds.

(Urabandai, where we were staying that night, is the other side of the mountain.)

　でもこの辺りは上天気。　But the sun was shining here.　♪

ところどころそば畑もありました。There were some soba (buckwheat) fields, too.

猪苗代湖に到着です。

This is Lake Inawashiro

日本で4番目に大きい湖です。It's the fourth largest lake in Japan.

実はそう遠くないところに野口英世記念館があるそうです。

野口英世の生家がそのまま保存されているとか。
今回は80分しかなかったので無理でしたが、次回はゆっくりそちらも行ってみたいと思います。

Hideyo Noguchi Memorial Hall is not so far from there.

(Hideyo Noguchi is a famous bacteriologist from Inawashiro. His portrait is on current 1000-yen note.)

I learned that the old house where he was born and grew up is still there.
Too bad we only had 80 minutes.  
I have to go and see it next time.

駅に戻り、お迎えのバスに無事乗ることができました。(^_^)v

We were back to the station in time, and got on the hotel bus. (^_^)v

　　　夏が終わり、秋がやってきたって感じですね。　Good bye summer, hello autumn!
