"MAAch ecute Kanda Manseibashi" is in Akihabara.
It's a small but unique shopping mall run by JR east.
It's new, just opened last September.
But it's also old, as the building is more than 100 years old.

This building used to be Manseibashi Station, which opened in 1912.
Though the station was closed in 1943, JR Chuo line still runs on top of it.
It looks very old, doesn't it?
But the shops inside are very stylish.

And you come to the old platform.
Of course, trains don't stop here any more, but you can see trains passing by on both sides.
You can even have drinks on that old platform.

Can you see the trains outside?
I had Hakkaisan Beer. They have good selections of Sake, too.
Chuo Line is a very busy line, so trains were constantly passing by.
It was a lot of fun drinking leisurely, looking at busy trains.
It was time to go home.
Feeling happy, we headed back to Akihabara Station.
It looks very chic at night

Then, I turned around, and... \(◎o◎)/!
Akihabara is so bright and loud!!
It was so different!
Akihabara is such an interesting place.
But to be honest, I like mAAch ecute better. (^^)

You finally went! I have been meaning to go there since I remember hearing about it from you.
I have seen that little station as I pass by on the Chuo Line once a week or so. I also wanted to try the beer at that place. I think it is a radio station name? Or did you go to another place? I want to try Hakkaisan beer but I don't know if they can make good beer. Too much good sake to make! :D
Thanks for the trip around there.
Dru,
I think you'll enjoy the place. (^^)
There are several cafes on the first floor, too, (and some of them, quite interesting, especially Le Petit Kanda) but yes, this time, I went to the platform one, cafe&bar N3331. About its name, I'm not very sure but it seems it came from the group called "3331 Arts Chiyoda."
I'm curious how you, the beer expert(^_-), think of Hakkaisan beer. To me, it was very good. But any beer is almost always good to me. (>_<) I really truly thought it was good beer, though.

I will try to check out N3331. The name is interesting too. It sounds like the name of a steam locomotive but I think I'm wrong. I looked at their website and it said 3 Ns. Nippon, New, Next.

If I try Hakkaisan beer, I'll tell you what I think. Only problem, I worry they work too much on the nihonshu and not enough on the beer. We'll see. ^^

Dru,
Thank you for finding out about N3331. I also thought it was the name of an old train.
I like that phrase, "世界で最も電車に近いカフェ&バー," Yes, trains are passing by so close. It's kind of exciting.
So you don't think Hakkaisan beer can be as good as their sake? (^_-) I can't wait to read about the beer and the place on your blog.
I'm so glad you wrote this post. I've been meaning to go forever, but I haven't had a chance. Right now I'm grimacing and ganbatte-ing till the end of the academic year, when I might have time for walkpeditions again. (Please, gods and goddesses, please!)
Anyway, now I've got lots of extra information thanks to you and my partner-in-crime Dru. ^^
Rurousha,
Ganbatte-ing?(^o^) That's right, it's almost the end of the school year. Maybe you are writing your student report? But I'm worried for your students... busy Rurousha = no walkpeditons = bad mood = a lot of students with "F" ? (^_-)
I hope you can go and see mAAch ecute soon, for the sake of your students.
I can't say if their beer will be good or bad but my guess is it won't be great. Then again, my tastes are different to other people. I don't like Asahi Super Dry but I know people who do. If you like something, never let me or anyone else tell you it isn't good. ;)

Dru,
It seems there are much more varieties of beer around these days. It is always fun to try them. (^^)v
