We were to spend two days in Urabandai, Fukushima.
We took Tohoku Shinkansen from Omiya to Koriyama, then, Ban-etsu Nishi Line to Inawashiro.

The view from the train was golden!
もうすぐ収穫でしょうか? golden rice fields, almost ready for harvest
We got off at Inawashiro Station.
Our hotel bus was going to pick us up in about 80 minutes.
So, in that 80 minutes, we decided to walk to Lake Inawashiro, and come back.
It turned out to be a very pleasant walk.\(^o^)/

Mt. Bandai was hidden in the clouds.
(Urabandai, where we were staying that night, is the other side of the mountain.)
But the sun was shining here. ♪
There were some soba (buckwheat) fields, too.

This is Lake Inawashiro
It's the fourth largest lake in Japan.

Hideyo Noguchi Memorial Hall is not so far from there.
(Hideyo Noguchi is a famous bacteriologist from Inawashiro. His portrait is on current 1000-yen note.)
I learned that the old house where he was born and grew up is still there.
Too bad we only had 80 minutes.
I have to go and see it next time.

We were back to the station in time, and got on the hotel bus. (^_^)v
