江戸東京博物館 Edo-Tokyo Museum

両国の江戸東京博物館へ行ってきました。

I went to Edo-Tokyo Museum in Ryogoku.

そこでは江戸時代の生活や文化を学ぶことができます。

以前にも数回行ったことはありますが、その頃はそれほど興味もありませんでした。

「名所江戸百景」散歩をするようになって、今回は楽しみです～♪

There, they show a lot about Edo period, their life and culture.

I have been there several times before, but at that time, I wasn't so interested.

But this time, as I am now into this "A Hundred Views of Edo" thing, I was all eyes♪  

日本橋は全長５１メートル。

その北側半分が実物大に再現されています。

材木も昔ながらのケヤキ、ヒノキです。

The old Nihonbashi-bridge was 51 meters  long.

They replicated the north half of it in the real size,

 with keyaki and hinoki wood like old days.

「９１景猿若町」で紹介した中村座も実物大で建っていました。

やぐらもしっかりありますね。

毎年１１月の顔見世興行ではこのようにたくさんの看板や提灯で飾られたのだそうです。

Kabuki Theater Nakamura-za, which I introduced in the View 91 "Saruwaka-machi" stands there in the real size.

You can see the box-like "Yagura" on the roof.

Every November, they had a show with an all-star cast.

And for that, they decorated the theater with these signboards and lanterns.

浮世絵の作り方の説明もありました。

They showed how to make woodblock prints.

絵草子屋さん。

こうやって浮世絵が売られていたんですね。

This is a book shop selling woodblock prints.

両国橋西側の盛り場を再現した３０分の１の模型。

なんと１５００体の人形がいます。

This is the 1/30 model of the west side of Ryogoku-bridge,

with as many as 1500 figures!

休憩は７階のお食事喫茶｢桜茶寮」へ。

眺めがよく、国技館もよく見えます。

After that, I went up to a cafe & restaurant, "Sakura Saryo",  on the 7th floor.

It has a nice view and the Sumo Arena Kokugikan is just below.

「平清盛展」をやっているのでそれにちなんだ｢厳島風蜜豆」を頂きました。

右側の蜂蜜シロップをかけて食べます。

I had this unique "Mitsumame," with a shrine made of chocolate sticks and maccha ice cream.

   

大満足でした。
