44景　日本橋通一丁目略図です。
江戸の商業の中心地。
右手前のお店は呉服店「白木屋」。1662年創業で後の東急百貨店の前身です。
中央で大きな二重の傘をさしているのは大道芸かっぽれの一行。
真桑売りやそば屋の出前もみえます。
日傘をさして女性たちも歩いていて、なんともにぎやかですね。

Nihonbashi was the busiest shopping area in Edo.



The store on the far right is the Kimono-shop "Shiroki-ya" which was established in 1662.
Though it changed the name to Tokyu Department store, it was in business at the same place until 1999.


The street looks very busy and lively.
The people under the big layered umbrella are street performers.
The man with a big belly is delivering Soba noodles.
Another man is selling Makua fruits.



東急百貨店は１９９９年に閉店、白木屋からの３３６年の歴史に幕を閉じました。


そして今はその跡地にコレドが建っています。４階までが店舗やレストラン。その上はオフィスになっています。



Now where the Shiroki-ya was stands the big building, COREDO.
It has many shops, restaurants and offices.
